Experience Beyond Japan's Capital

Begin in Tokyo with a mix of well-known spots and quieter neighborhoods. Spend time around Nakameguro for a relaxed lunch by the river, then head into Shinjuku in the evening for a deeper look at the izakaya scene — small dishes, local favorites, and a lively atmosphere. On your second day, explore the city’s older side with a walk through Ueno and Yanaka, where Tokyo slows down and feels more local.

Just outside Tokyo, Yokohama offers a different pace, with open waterfront views and a more relaxed feel. Spend time exploring Chinatown for a mix of classic dishes and street snacks, then walk through quieter neighborhoods and gardens nearby. For a deeper look at Japan’s ramen culture, visit the Ramen Museum before ending the day along the harbor at Yamashita Park.

  • A short trip from Tokyo brings you to Kamakura, where the pace slows and the setting shifts to the coast. Visit temples and shrines tucked into the hills, then explore local streets like Onari Dori, known for small shops, bakeries, and everyday life. The day blends history, nature, and a more laid-back atmosphere by the sea.

Head out of Tokyo early toward Kawaguchiko, where the pace shifts and Mount Fuji comes into view. Spend the day exploring the area by bike, stopping at quieter lakeside spots for unobstructed views. In the afternoon, slow down with a traditional meal and time to relax in a local onsen by the water.

Return to Tokyo, with Mount Fuji fading into the distance as the pace shifts back to the city. Visit a local shopping street known for street food and small vendors, including one of Tokyo’s older neighborhoods, sampling dishes like yakitori and Japanese sweets along the way. In the afternoon, head to Ebisu for a slower pace, ending the trip with a visit to a few tucked-away bars.
