I stayed in the Deluxe King Room, sized for a solo traveler but generous well beyond what "deluxe" usually means at this price point in Kyoto — further proof that the spaciousness at Takakura wasn't a one-off. The rainfall shower is a small but real upgrade, one that feels chosen rather than checked off a list.

Breakfast follows the same script as Takakura — coffee, tea, juice, croissants and pastries — but evenings add something new: wine and sake service, understated enough that it fits rather than feels tacked on.

Two stays in, the pattern holds: spacious rooms regardless of category, real design intent instead of generic boutique dressing, and locations that do the work of getting you where you actually want to be — whether that's a twin room built for a family or a deluxe single built for one.
